Monitoring the Built-up Area Transformation Using Urban Index and Normalized Difference Built-up Index Analysis
Makassar is one of the metropolitan cities located in Indonesia which recently experiences massive an increased construction because of population growth. Mapping the spatial distribution and development of the built-up region is the best method that can use as an indicator to set the urban planning policy. The purpose of this study is to identify changes in land use and density in Makassar Cit...
متن کاملAnalysis of Built-Up Areas from Polarimetric Interferometric SAR Images
This paper describes the analysis of built-up areas using fully polarimetric interferometric SAR data at L-band. This approach uses a polarimetric interferometric segmentation to determine the number of dominant scattering mechanisms required by an interferometric phase estimation using ESPRIT method.
متن کاملExtracting Built-up Areas from Multitemporal Interferometric Sar Images
Automatic extraction of built-up areas from a multitemporal interferometric ERS-1/2 Tandem SAR dataset was studied. The image data were segmented into homogeneous regions and the regions were classified using their mean intensity and coherence values and additional contextual information. According to comparison with a set of reference points, an overall classification accuracy of 97% was achie...
متن کاملPolarimetric Calibration Using Polarization Orientation Angles of Built-up Areas
A new polarimetric calibration method using polarization orientation angle shifts at built-up areas and standard calibrators is studied. Calibration matrices were derived from datasets of the Gifu and the JAXA Tomakomai calibration sites, which are almost the same as those by JAXA. Faraday rotation angels in observed datasets can be estimated. Two estimated Faraday rotation angles were reasonable.
متن کاملEmpirical approach to threshold determination for the delineation of built-up areas with road network data
Various approaches have been proposed to address the delineation of built-up areas for a wide range of applications. Recently developed approaches are based on the increasing availability of road network data. However, most approaches have employed one or more parameters to divide built-up from non-built-up areas. Very few studies have discussed how to determine appropriate thresholds for such ...
